Case Study - Agvance Marketing Ltd
Agvance Marketing is an agri-tech company that manufactures and provides trace elements for dairy cattle. Their head office is based in Auckland and their manufacturing plant is in Te Awamutu.
The monthly telecommunications cost for Agvance was quite significant. The major costs that contributed to the high monthly bill was paying for multiple line rentals, both in their Te Awamutu plant and the Auckland office, calls from the office to the plant in Te Awamutu (and visa versa), calls from the office to clients around NZ, and agents who regularly called in on their 0800 number. Manging Director Chris Balemi engaged C-talk to provide a system to be able to reduce the company’s costs. Chris had already implemented a Vodafone talkZone plan into his current system, to reduce mobile phone costs, so the challenge now was to reduce the remaining high costs. C-talk was able to achieve this by implementing a VoIP system across the whole business. In the Te Awamutu manufacturing plant, the plant phone number was ported (transferred) to the VoIP network. A new VoIP desktop phone was installed in the office, and a VoIP adapter was installed so two other existing phones in the plant could be retained. Back in the office in Auckland, the main landline number was also ported to the VoIP system. Both sites now took advantage of free calling to landlines, and low calling rates to mobiles, and they are both connected to a single VoIP account (with a single plan charge). Another large cost that the business was facing was the 0800 calls that the agents were making into the office. The current provider was charging $0.30/min for calls from landlines to the 0800 number, and more still for calls from mobiles. The business needed to keep the established 0800 number that was known by its existing and potential new clients, but the majority of the calls to the 0800 number were from the Agvance agents. So C-talk setup a new 0800 number with its VoIP service provider for the agents to use. With the new number, calls from NZ landlines were only $0.05/min, significantly reducing the 0800 number costs to the business. The end result is that Agvance has now reduced its typical monthly bill for phone services by over one-third. This is what Chris Balemi had to say about the service from C-talk: “Getting C-talk involved in our communications system has had a significant benefit for our business. I was aware that there was new technology out there that we could be utilising, but was unsure about how to make it work in our business. C-talk has been the key to allowing us to take full advantage of the new technology in telecommunication systems. This hasn’t just benefited the business financially, but the voice quality has actually improved over our old phone lines. The most pleasing aspect of working with C-talk is their commitment to excellent customer service. They have been very helpful throughout each stage of the system implementation process, from proposal to implementation to follow up service. The friendly service makes dealing with them a pleasure. I would happily recommend C-talk and their systems to any business”. Chris Balemi, Managing Director, Agvance Marketing Ltd. See www.agvance.co.nz Return to Case Studies index |
