Case Study - Doubleday EntertainmentDoubleday Entertainment is a leading direct marketer of books, CDs and DVDs in Australia and New Zealand. They are a particularly unique customer to C-talk - they are based in Sydney, Australia. Doubleday has a loyal customer base in NZ, and those customers are looked after by their customer service centre in Sydney.
Prior to getting C-talk involved, they had NZ phone numbers with a traditional service provider, that was forwarding the calls to their Australian phone numbers. Because of the prices charged by traditional telcos, the cost of getting all their NZ calls to their Sydney call centre was particularly costly. Doubleday engaged C-talk to see what they could do about this situation. C-talk were able to harness the power of VoIP to take the cost of receiving their NZ calls to zero (on a per call basis)! How was this possible? C-talk ported the numbers across to them from their previous telco. Doubleday had an IP-capable phone system, which meant that C-talk were able to terminate (or route) the NZ calls to their phone system in Sydney over the internet. This meant that Doubleday were no longer paying to receive each call. Further, they could use the C-talk VoIP lines on their phone system to call out to NZ landlines for free, and mobiles at the domestic rate. This is a great example of the power and usefulness of VoIP technology with C-talk. Watson Integrity www.doubleday.co.nz Phone: 09 479 2200 Return to Case Studies index |
