C-talk Time Schedules
The time schedules feature of your C-talk phone service is an incredibly useful tool that can help make your phone service more effective.
Uses include:
Automatically switching to a "night service" message at specified times
Forwarding calls to your mobile automatically after hours
Using the "Simultaneous Ring" feature to ring your mobile only during work hours (and thus not disturbing you outside work hours
Enable Call Screening service automatically at certain times (eg. after hours)
And more (with your imagination)! If you have an idea, and want to check if it's possible, please email us
First we'll show you how to configure the Time Schedules, then give you a couple of examples of using the time schedule feature.
Configuring the Time Schedule feature
First, log in to the C-talk portal with the phone number that you want configure (probably your main number)
Now click on the heading "Time Schedules"
In the page that loads, you'll see there are 3 time schedule groups (Working hours, Available hours & User defined hours)
You can configure these time schedules according to your preferences (and intended usage)
Once configured, click "Save Options"
Setting Calls to forward automatically after hours
Configure the time schedule group "Working hours" correctly for your business, as above
Now from the main portal screen, go to "Call Forwarding"
In the Call Forwarding page, tick either "Always forward my calls to" OR "Forward my calls when unavailable". Using the 2nd option will let your main phone ring for the specified amount of time before forwarding the call
In the field next to the tick box, enter the phone number to forward to (eg. your mobile number)
Now in the next menu box "Forward these calls:", select "Outside work hours"
If using call forward when unavailable (2nd option), it is best to leave the call diversion timer value alone, as this is the same timer value used for your voicemail (that applies during work hours).
Now click "Save Options" at the bottom. Your calls will now automatically forward outside work hours!
Using simultaneous ring only during work hours If you are someone who is out and about a lot, this setup could be very useful! It will allow you to receive calls to your landline number on your mobile, but only during work hours so you're not disturbed after hours. To set this up, follow the instructions for simultaneous ring:
