Cisco SPA122 ATA Configuration Guide
The following guide will help you to quickly configure your Cisco SPA122 for the C-talk service. It assumes that both your current router and PC or laptop are configured to use DHCP for IP addressing (default on most PCs/laptops).
Step One: Updating firmware Download the two files below (1. Firmware, 2. Configuration):
Now connect your PC or Laptop directly to the ATA's Ethernet (Yellow) port, using a network cable. Connect a 2nd cable from the ATA's Internet (Blue) port, to a port on your modem/router/switch.
Now open your internet browser, clear out whatever is in the address bar (at the top), and enter: 192.168.15.1 and press Enter. At the login page, enter the username "admin" and password "admin". Click on Administration at the top, then choose Firmware Upgrade on the left Click Choose File, and select the firmware file on your hardrive that you downloaded above (1st file), then select Upgrade.
After the upgrade has been completed, you will be returned to the login page, where you can log in again.
Step Two: Loading the configuration file After logging in again, click on Administration at the top, then select Config Management on the left, and finally choose Restore Configuration. Now select the config file on your hardrive that you downloaded above (2nd file), then click Restore. After the restore process has finished, you will be taken back to the login page, where you can log in again.
The password has changed, and is now: c-talk
Step Three: Entering your C-talk line details Now click on "Voice" at the top of the admin page. If it says "Voice module not ready", try again in 30 secs. If you still can't access after 2 mins, restart (re-power) the ATA, give it 1 minute, then try again. Click on Line 1 on the left, scroll down to Subscriber Information and enter the details provided by C-talk, in the format as below:
Once entered, at the bottom of the page click the "Submit" button The ATA's voice module will restart.
If the setup has been successful, after 2 mins the 3rd light on the ATA should light up (the Phone 1 light). if not, try restarting (re-powering) the ATA and give it another 2 minutes.
If you are registering both Phone 1 and Phone 2 ports, click on "Line 2" in the admin page, and enter the details in the same way.
If you're line/s haven't registered, please contact C-talk for assistance.
Finishing Off You can now disconnect the cable from the ATA's Ethernet port to your PC, and plug your PC directly into your router/modem/switch again (if it is normally).
